Bayt invites Israelis and Palestinians for joint dinners.
Bayt started as a homemade dinner, organized by an Israeli and a Palestinian. We invited four Israelis, and four Palestinians (one from Gaza, one from the West Bank and two Palestinian refugees) to sit down together at one of our homes for a Middle-Eastern meal. What begun with hesitation and uncertainty, led to a 5-hour gathering, during which we came together, listened, shared laughs, and exchanged numbers for ongoing get-togethers.
“Bayt” means home in Hebrew and in Arabic. A home we both share, and a home that will only flourish when both sides flourish. We believe we are all human. We believe in co-existence. We have no agenda, other than to bring people together. This is the first step towards finding a solution.
